We are Heidi and Patrick, the first and only SNUBA® operator on Bonaire.
We fell in love with Bonaire. Then decided to share it.
In 2021, we made a decision that would change everything. We packed our bags and set off to travel the world. No fixed plan, no destination, just a shared desire to explore.
One of those stops was Bonaire. And that was that.
There was something about this island: the warmth of the people, the crystal-clear waters, the extraordinary reef just steps from the shore. Within four months of that first visit, we made Bonaire our home.
It wasn’t long before we discovered SNUBA®. And one question kept coming up: why doesn’t Bonaire have this yet? For a world-famous dive destination, why was there no real way for non-divers to experience the reef from below the surface? It felt like a gap that needed to be filled.
Combined with my (Heidi) passion for the underwater world, hospitality and my background in health care, the answer became clear. SNUBA® Bonaire was born in 2026. The first and only licensed SNUBA® operator on the island of Bonaire.

Heidi Uimonen
SNUBA® guide and co-founder
Heidi is the certified SNUBA® guide and heart of SNUBA® Bonaire. She is the one you’ll meet on the water, welcoming you with a big smile. As an Advanced diver, Rescue diver and certified SNUBA® guide since 2021, she knows Bonaire’s reef intimately. One of her greatest pleasures is introducing others to the beautiful underwater world of Bonaire.
Before founding SNUBA® Bonaire, Heidi worked as a nurse in the hospital. A background that brings both calm and care to everything she does on the water.
Patrick Loonstra
Co-founder and operations
Patrick is the organizational backbone of SNUBA® Bonaire. He is the one who ensures that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. From bookings and planning to logistics and operations. Like Heidi, Patrick is an Advanced diver, Rescue diver and certified SNUBA® guide, diving since 2022 and sharing the same love for Bonaire’s underwater world.
Patrick’s priority is simple: make sure every guest has an experience they’ll remember, while everything behind the scenes runs exactly as it should.
Meet the Mushi Mushi catamaran
Departing from Nautico Marina in Kralendijk, our 40-foot motorized catamaran takes you to some of the most beautiful reef sites Bonaire has to offer. Comfortable, stable and perfectly suited for a 4-hour trip on Bonaire’s calm waters. The perfect place to relax, enjoy your drinks and snacks and simply have a great time with your friends and family.
The outside cockpit is covered by a large roof for plenty of shade, while the front deck lets you relax in the sun on one of the nets. At the back of the catamaran, you will find stairs and a sturdy ladder for getting in and out the water.

Small groups
A maximum of 16 guests per tour, divided into two small groups one in the water. That means real personal attention. Making sure everyone feels comfortable is always our priority.
